'Marteja' - Warrior Queen

Marteja - Warrior Queen - Part of 'Death is not the End' series of sculptures

She is a ferocious Warrior Queen.

She rides a beast with whom she is so in tune, they almost appear as one.

Although a fearsome and brutal leader, she is also blessed with the desire to nurture that will give her tribe a strength and knowledge to endure and continue to thrive long after she has returned to the earth.

Fantasy sculpture constructed from wild scavenged road death deer bone, copper wire and mesh, brass wire, copper 'hat' set with cubic zircon, gifted vintage Whitby Jet, gifted pre-set moonstones, small beads from old saved garment packets.

The whole of this sculptural piece was created with the idea of using items entirely from my existing collections of artistic materials.

She stands inside a glass dome that has been in my collection since about 2018 and used for my jewellery display. I am happy to move these pieces to new homes.
