Peacock Ring

 A cornflower blue Sri Lanka sapphire is the feature stone of this ring, subtly complimented by a white topaz and silver accents. The ring has been hand cast using the very ancient technique of cuttlefish casting, a technique where molten metal is poured into a cuttlebone. The piece is textured all over with the cuttle imprint along with more textures created using a variety of studio tools.The inside of the band also retains some of the casting textures. The band has been shaped on the sides to fit snugly between the fingers and is hand scribed with a Peacock feather.  Oxidation has been used to give that final extra definition to the texturing.
