Sea Witch Wand

This small sized piece is one of my mixed media creations. The Sea Witch Wand is what I term a ‘manifestation piece’. 
She/he was created in the early hours of the morning and was formed by candle light. At 2am, modern lighting can be very disturbing for my eyes, so the choice of more gentle candlelight enables me to sit more peacefully and is entirely appropriate for this kind of ritualistic piece. Like all of these types of creations, the work is never sketched before, but adjusted as I proceed selecting the building material from the various collections around my studio.

Creating quietly in the early hours while the rest of the household sleeps brings a different element to my working practice creating a contrast to the sometimes noisy and very physical work required for metalsmithing. I feel this softer energy if reflected in the lightness of the piece  

All the natural elements used in this piece have been responsibly collected by me on many a stroll around the coastline of the UK. There also attached beads and a few metallic elements that were already constructed in my collections.

This wand has a nice rattle sound to it.

She will arrive cleared of any energies ready for you to add your own intentions.
